This is a gorgeous pair of bright cut tongs. They are flared with a cut in shoulders and Adam style engraved flowers to the tops of the arms. They have a feather edge engraving all around the edges of the arms and oval bowls. These tongs are much more in the style of the top London makers of the time rather than early Birmingham work. They have the date letter "E" denoting 1777/78.
