These tongs are completely plain with small circular deep cut shell bowls.  They are very heavy, weighing over 55 grams and have a delightful monogram of a flying falcon or is it a pigeon or a dove? The tongs are dated no later than 1786 as can be seen from the combination of Harp & Hibernia. It is also interesting that the maker's mark is in a plain rectangular punch, without the serrated edge & has a pellet between the two letters.
