Benjamin Tait is perhaps one of the most well known of the Dublin makers.  Jackson records his mark on a gravy spoon dated 1791.  His mark has a serrated edge.  These tongs are essentially plain with a thread edge but have a lovely engraved pattern of foliage at the tops of the arms.  These tongs are dated around 1793.
