Matthew Fenton, Richard Creswick & William Watson registered a mark on September 13th 1773, just two days after the Assay Office opened. They were just the second company to register. They were Plate-workers, based in Mulberry Street. This maker’s mark is very rare and I have only seen this one pair of togs made by these makers. The tong are delightful bright cut and shaped tongs with a lovely pattern around the edge of the arms and flower and star pattern. They have interesting spade shaped bowls. The date is between 1st July and 30th November 1784.
