John Legg is recorded as working between 1809 and 1814.  John Legg's first entry in the Assay book was on 5th January 1809, "1 Teapot, 1 bason 1 Fork".  Jackson records a mark on a waiter, dated 1809/10.  Sugar tongs by John Legg are very rare.  The first recorded sent for assay was 2 pairs on 25th March 1809.  This pair is very plain, with no distinguishing features, dated 1810/11.
