Jason Holt has a script maker’s mark “IH”.  He is recorded in Jackson’s as being from Plymouth and dating between 1742 and 1784.  "Exeter and West Country Silver" records him as dating between 1758 and 1784.  There is clearly some confusion between the earliest dates for him.  His script maker's mark is very, very similar to the early script maker's mark for Joseph Hicks.  This can make identifying their work difficult.  I have shown three pairs of tongs here and suggest that these three are all by Jason Holt rather than Joseph Hicks.
