This is a pair of bright cut engraved tongs, fairly typical for London makers of the period. Albeit they are a little shorter than most being only just over 5 inches in length. The maker's mark does not have the cut corner to the top right which is entirely correct as the cut corner mark was not registered until 30th June 1806. These tongs are dated 1803/04.
