George Wintle is the most prolific of all of the makers of this period.  A collector could focus just on George Wintle and have a collection spanning most of the period and covering almost the full range of antique Georgian silver sugar tongs.  He entered his first mark on 2nd January 1787 as a plate-worker and other marks were entered up to 1823.

 

In examining George Wintle sugar tongs, we see the complete range, with nothing particularly distinguishable to enable us to tell George Wintle sugar tongs apart from many other Georgian makers.
