This is a beautiful pair of bright cut tongs. They have a very distinctive style with wide shoulders and lovely pear shaped bowls. There is an elaborate engraved monogram. With these tongs the maker's mark is much clearer than the first pair but probably still the same mark. Again I have dated these tongs as c1780 - 1784. These tongs may have been made by any of the registered silver-smiths of the period, the likely candidates being John Carter II or John Cormick.
