John Cook Pettit registered his first mark on 30^th June 1788 as a small-worker.  He then registered another, (incuse), mark in 1789.  He was recorded as a Goldsmith.  Sugar tongs by John Cook Pettit are very rare.  This pair is completely plain with a nicely engraved monogram, “Mary”.
