John Nixon registered several marks as a buckle-maker, on 29th April 1789, 12th November 1802, 15th September 1807 and 6th October 1815. We don't know very much more about him and unfortunately have no pictures of his maker's mark. There were several other London makers with the initials "IN" around this time but all of their marks had a pellet between them. I have therefore chosen to ascribe these tongs to John Nixon - I could easily be wrong.

They are completely plain and are dated 1806/07.
