These tongs have a lovely feather edge to them. Although I have dated them as c1780, they are not bright cut and could therefore be dated a little earlier. They are engraved with an "Adam" style flower pattern. The bow is shaped and the bowls are also slightly shaped by an extension of the feather edging. This pair show a very close similarity to another pair, also shown here. They are marked in the bowls. Notice that the maker's mark is identical on the two pairs of tongs.
