Josiah Snatt registered a mark as a small-worker on 10th January 1798. This was the only mark he entered and was presumably dead by the time his, (presumed) wife Sarah registered her mark on 10th September 1817. John Shea is a recognised maker of sugar tongs around this period but he did not register his mark until 1807. These tongs are standard bright cut tongs, dated 1799/1800.
