This partnership were registered as buckle-makers only, registering a mark in 1779.  They operated from the same address that Samuel Whitford I had worked from, so there is likely to have been a family connection.  Tongs with this maker’s mark are rare and these are a particularly nice bright cut example, dated c1780 – 1784.
