pair of sugar tongs are dated 1791 and are a good example of the flared,
shaped style of sugar tongs. They are particularly interesting as they
have no date letter. The date letter was introduced on 29th May 1791
and Peter & Ann started working together on 2nd May 1791. This enables
us to date these very accurately - as one of the very first pairs of sugar
