Samuel Godbehere registered his first mark on his own and worked alone for only a very short time.  He registered a mark in partnership with Edward Wigan on 13^th September 1786.  This partnership lasted for some fourteen years until they then included James Bult in the partnership and registered themselves as “S Godbehere & Co.”  This was on 15th March 1800.  Godbehere & Wigan made sugar tongs throughout their period together, in the standard styles for the period.  The partnership lasted until 16th September 1818 when Godbehere & Bult registered a mark on their own.
