| Solomon
Hougham was Charles
Hougham's brother and worked with him until Charles died in 1793.
Solomon then entered his own mark.
Solomon
Hougham’s
sugar
tongs date from 1793 to 1817, so we would expect to see the full
range of
silver sugar
tongs of this period from him. In looking at his
sugar
tongs, we see the
same pattern as with all makers of this time. The earlier
sugar
tongs are all
bright cut, gradually changing until all the later
sugar
tongs are plain. Click on any picture to see ore details |
