| Stephen Adams I entered his first mark on his own on
8th October 1760, (he had entered marks in partnership with William Jury
prior to that). At this time he was registered as a small-worker.
Following this he changed to being a buckle-maker. Grimwade records
him as being "principally a spoon-maker". For the purposes of
ascribing work to one or other of the Stephen Adams's, I have taken the
approach that anything prior to 24th March 1792 is Stephen Adams
I, after that, his son. As the two were working together from at least
as early as 1784, if not before, it is certain that anything produced
