Thomas Hayter entered two marks on his own on 21^st May 1805 as a plate-worker and worked on his own until he entered a mark with his son George on 15^th March 1816. Given the period of Thomas Hayter’s work, I would expect to see more plain tongs, other than this there is little to distinguish him from other makers of the period.
