These are plain tongs, with a thread edge, dated c1782.  They are very unusual in that they have a chevron shaped ribbed pattern on the inside of the arms.  Sadly this is a little worn and the tongs overall are a little tired, with a crease on the inside of the bow and well worn marks.  Nevertheless they are rare, this ribbed pattern is only very rarely seen.
