This is a shortened pair of standard bright cut tongs. They measure 4.¾ inches or 11.8cms long. The joins where they have been repaired can clearly be seen about 1cm up from the bottoms of the bowls. Whether this was done at the time of manufacture or sometime later is debatable. The fact that the bright cut engraving is un-disturbed suggests it was done at the time of manufacture but we cannot be sure of this.
