Solomon Royes & John East Dix registered a mark together on 19th September 1818 and Solomon Royes registered a mark on his own on 22nd February 1820. As they were only working together for 20 months, sugar tongs by this partnership are very rare. This pair is bright cut over the whole length with a lovely trailing leaf pattern engraved to the top half of the arms. They are quite chunky, with large bowls, which was standard for this period. With the date letter “C”, these tings can be accurately dated between 19th September 1818 and 29th May 1819.
